Ed Corry Reid signed up again for what seems to be becoming an annual event! We are delighted to say that he successfully finished the arduous swim and raised some much needed funds for the animals. A huge thank you to Ed from all the team at CARE! Please read Ed’s letter to find out more about the swim…
“After a tiring and at times nerve wracking swim, I managed to successfully navigate my way from the Albanian coast all the way over to Corfu
Despite overcast weather, the threat of rain, and an hour and thirty minutes of battling a strong current that tried to push me and my fellow swimmers out north into the middle of the Adriatic Sea, I was relieved to arrive in St Stephano harbour with nothing worse than a very tired pair of legs and a good story about an oil tanker that steamed past a little closer than was entirely comfortable.
It was a great day, made all the more enjoyable by the support and goodwill of locals, friends and family alike.
The charity I am supporting, CARE, is a wonderful organisation, and I know from first-hand experience what a difference every penny raised can make. Despite the endless hard work that the charity puts in, there are seemingly more dogs than ever in need of proper care and a loving home, so I hope you can forgive me for taking this opportunity to once again ask for any support you are able to provide, if not in terms of donations, then in passing word of the charity to friends and family who might be interested in taking in one of CARE’s many wonderful dogs.
The link to donate can be found here: http://www.carecorfu.com/index.php/about-2, which will also allow you to read more about all the good work the charity does.
Thank you again for the support and donations that have been made, which I can assure you have been most gratefully received!
Lots of love,
Ed”
